Naero's Fury (A Spacer Clans Adventure Book 3) by Mason Eliot is the sequel to "Naero's Gambit". This book is the continuation of a Space Opera which began with "Naero's Run". The author displays remarkable imagination as he continues the saga of a young "Spacer" girl (Naero) who almost daily uses her inherent and accumulated powers to literally "save the galaxy" from all kinds of internal and external threats. In this episode and in spite of her considerable heroics, she agrees to be tried for the murder of her Mystic trainer even though he sought to kill her. Naero also becomes romantically involved with the Mystic Enforcer who is sworn to hunt her down and bring her to justice. During her initial flight from "justice", she acquires additional knowledge and powers from several alien races, saves one planet from complete annihilation, rescues another planet's people from tyranny, and manages to get pregnant while trapped inside a star. Unfortunately, the book ends with Naero preparing to stand trial for murder. If found guilty, she will forfeit her life and her executioner will be her lover. The " Spacer Clan " books are outstanding. They fallow the exploits of NAERO and her adventures. Great characters, mystery, intrigue, romance and warfare far in the future. All the stories that I have read by Mr. Elliott, I have enjoyed. I believe that he is an impressive author.
Sort of long winded in spots. The plot dragged and it was difficult to follow and create a picture. His use of hyphens has always been a tad much, this time it was over the top. I realize this is scify and much like Heinlein did in his later books became obsessed with sex. This little tryst with Naero II and Om was way over the top.
Sorry to say that did not finish the book. I really liked the series up to that point but it feels like the author tried to cram too many diverse things in the same book and it is simply too much to take in as far as I am concerned. Naero has stopped being a person, she has become is some kind of invincible genie who can do anything, outwit anyone and survive against unbelievable odds. ...
Great continuation of Naero's saga. Kept your interest thru out the entire book. Definitely a well told story to an ending that was a surprise. Would recommend the other adventures also. Gives syfi stories a different point of view. Not the same old good versus evil, your main characters have to deal with problems that don't necessarily have a happy endings.
I believe that this is the worst book this author has put out from an editing standpoint, It made it very difficult to read especially during the final third of the book where problems occurred on almost every page. Confusing you're for your happened numerous times as well as confusing to and too; both were used incorrectly multiple times. His other books were better. The overall plot was good and the book was enjoyable except for the editing. I like the author's story and I will purchase the next book when it comes out. I just hope that it is easier to read.
Good entertainment. I was little bit worried how this story continue because Naero was almost like a god so she could do anything. She still evolving but there is equal opponents as well so everything is not done by snapping a finger, more interesting I would say. Also this being like a God theme seems to interest the author as well. This book but you think how possible "higher" live forms could/would handle example our race here in Earth if they are much more evolved than us (if there is any, they most probably are). Anyway, excellent reading ones more
This is an excellent followup to Gambit complete with personal conflict, loss, honor, dedication and determination by Naero, her Uncle and their crews. No spoilers here but someone who needed to die does -) and one loss brings a lot of pain. This book ends leaving you wanting the next one available right now. The simple detractors of this book are the same as previous editions, I have no idea who is doing the proof reading for these books, the amount of doubled words, misspelled words and in some cases poor grammar is annoying, hence Mason find someone else to proof read your books before publication. All in all a very good read.
